This plan was drawn by C. [Cyrus] Bancroft in August 1855, with a handwritten notation "R.F. W. July 12, 1901." There are detailed measurements of Symmes plot with names and locations of adjaecent property owners. The plan is encased in polyester.

ART 1000.33 - Winchester National Bank Calendar Collection

This collection contains calendars designed by Ernest Dudley Chase for Winchester National Bank. Chase was a director of the Winchester National Bank, which was located on Church St. For the bank's calendars, Chase sketched houses in Winchester; most months feature a house with the owners identified along with the street and house number. Other sketches are of public buildings, clubs, churches, and views of a street with homes. The calendars also include phone numbers for emergency calls, numbers for the Boston and Maine and Wedgemere stations, Railway Express, and the location of the schools. The collection is missing the 1963 calendar. It is not known when the calendars began publicati

BUS 1100.09 - Winchester Business Records

The bulk of this collection consists of papers that were formerly held by the Winchester Historical Society. The collection includes leaflets, advertisements, newspaper clippings, and other business materials relating to several businesses in Winchester. The businesses represented in this collection include the Winchester Cooperative Bank, the Winchester National Bank, the Winchester Savings Bank, the Black Horse Tavern, the Winchester Brick Company, and the Winchester Theatre, among others.

This collection contains slides that are primarily views of Winchester Center. The collection also includes two sheets of house photographs. The photographs of the downtown, according to a text slide, were used to illustrate the issues of mix of land uses, pedestrian linkages, access to the Aberjona, and parking.

This collection contains black and white photographs, negatives, and two maps of the Boston Metropolitan era produced by William A. Withington when preparing for his dissertation, Land Use and Change in a Residential Suburb: Winchester, Massachusetts, 1930-1950. The collection contains many scenes of Winchester, including pictures of schools, businesses, railways, and houses. The photographs provide insight into the natural and built landscapes of Winchester and the surrounding areas during the middle of the twentieth century.

PH 2012.11 - Sharon Family Collection

This collection consists of phographs formerly owned by Robert Sharon, The collection includes a photograph album dating from 1908 to 1911, with images of Mystic Lake and the Aberjona River. Also included are high school reunion photos and miscellaneous images. Since most of the people in the reunion photos were unidentified, an effort was made to identify them, and papers with identifications are filed with the photos.

This collection contains photographs of houses, business, landscapes, and streetscapes in the Winchester area. The photographs were taken and donated by Mark Flannery, a Winchester resident who worked professionally as a photographer and landscape architect. When donated, some photographs were affixed to posters and some were loose. The former were removed from the posters for storage. "Poster 1," titled Architectural Styles and Characters of Winchester was assembled for the Winchester Historical Commission, in 2004. The poster mostly contained photographs of Poster 2, a Winchester Historical Society poster from 2004, includes an aerial photo of the Church St. District, a photo of an histo

The 164 photographs are primarily views of downtown Winchester taken by David Feigenbaum, the president of the non-profit, Winchester Tomorrow. The photographs depict Main Street, the Mill Pond Area, schools, and Town Hall, among other scenes of Winchester. The second group of photographs included 103 photographs of the downtown, residences, and demolitions plus 37 slides. Duplicates were weeded before filing.
