The 164 photographs are primarily views of downtown Winchester taken by David Feigenbaum, the president of the non-profit organization, Winchester Tomorrow. The photographs depict Main Street, the Mill Pond Area, schools, and Town Hall, among other scenes of Winchester. The second group of photographs included 103 photographs of the downtown, residences, and demolitions plus 37 slides. Duplicates were weeded before filing. |

Winchester resident David Feigenbaum was the president of Winchester Tomorrow, a non-profit organization formed in 1997 with a mission to provide an effective, sustained focus for the ideas and energy of those dedicated to preserving Winchester's unique aesthetic character embodied in its architectural assets and related landscapes." He took the photographs in the collection for the organization's newsletter, Winchester Seen, whose first issue was published in June 1998 and ran through 2003. At the time of the donation, Feigenbaum (b. 1947) had been a principal with Fish & Richardson since 1980. His interests have included civil rights and social action, as well as arts and culture. |
