Scope & Content |
This collection contains documents and photographs once belonging to the Russell Family, who have resided in Winchester since the town's founding in 1850. The documents include legal papers, such as land deeds, tax receipts, and petitions, as well as personal papers including marriage announcements and at-home invitations. Of particular interest is correspondence of William Symmes, Josiah Symmes, and Ebenezer Brooks. The photographs are formal photos of James W. Russell (1878-1940), Charlotte Skillings, Sherman Russell and Lincoln Russell. Several of the photographs were taken in Havana, Cuba. There is a photograph of the Highland School with children and teacher posed in front, including Lincoln L. Russell. |
