This collection contains family photographs, personal and professional papers, and some religious clippings and pamphlets once belonging to Frank J Wills and his family, who lived in Winchester in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. |

Frank J. Wills, the son of Henry Wills and Charlotte Ball, was born in Boston in February 1850. He married Harriet Burdett who was born in September 1853 in Massachusetts and died in Winchester on June 29, 1939. They had one son, John Burdett Wills, born Sep. 24, 1881 in Boston, died June 11, 1966 in Winchester. John married Dorothy Madison Cutts, daughter of Harry Madison Cutts and Marion Belcher, on Nov. 1, 1919 in Winchester. She was born on Dec. 27, 1893 in Brookline, and died on Apr. 9, 1965 in Winchester. Frank Wills was in the insurance business. The family first appears in the Winchester directories in 1887, living on "Church near Central." In 1888 they moved to "off 126 Highland," later numbered 8 Wolcott Terrace. This home was owned by the Wills family from the time it was built through 1955. |
