This collection contains photographs of houses, business, landscapes, and streetscapes in the Winchester area. The photographs were taken and donated by Mark Flannery, a Winchester resident who worked professionally as a photographer and landscape architect. When donated, some photographs were affixed to posters and some were loose. The former were removed from the posters for storage. "Poster 1," titled Architectural Styles and Characters of Winchester was assembled for the Winchester Historical Commission, in 2004. The poster mostly contained photographs of Poster 2, a Winchester Historical Society poster from 2004, includes an aerial photo of the Church St. District, a photo of an historic residence on Bacon Street (#89), and an aerial view of the east Main Street district from. Other donated photographs include seven views of the exterior and interior of 27 Myopia Road, dating to November 2003 and seven strips of negatives, including 25 views. Also of interest are seven views of the Wright-Locke Farm buildings which were printed from electronic files on a CD in 2006. |

As of 2014, Mark Flannery was a Winchester resident who had been doing professional photography in the Boston and New England area for 17 years. He is also a professional landscape architect and designer of the Boston Marathon Monument in Copley Square. His specialty is residential landscapes. His clients include Harvard University, MIT, Tennis magazine, Longwood CC, The International, Marriott Hotel, Hyatt Regency, VHB, JMA- John Moriarty Assoc., Haley & Aldrich, Kiewit, JFK Library, Turner, Olin and Babson College, and the Boston Red Sox. Flannery was a member of the Winchester Historical Commission from 2003 to 2009. The photos of the farm were taken while the Commission was promoting the Town's acquisition of the property |
