This collection includes a bound volume of minutes, stamped by the Winchester Historical & Genealogical Society, plus misc. papers possibly donated at several times, including a few and a copy of the constitution and bylaws, donated in 1940.
Admin/Biographical History
The Young Men's Literary Association, also known as the Winchester Literary Association, was formed to improve its members in declamation, debating, and general literature. The members were young men, though young ladies were invited to the social evenings. It ran a lyceum series in Lyceum Hall, built in 1854, and presented annual exhibitions or entertainments. News of the group's activities was carried in The Middlesex Journal.
