Description |
Stereoscope slide of the Brown and Stanton Building and railroad crossing. An old elm tree is in the middle of the street to the left. To the right is a partial view of the Warren F. Foster grocery store, later the Benjamin F. Holbrook store, and later still the Edgar A. Holbrook & Joseph C. Adams store. The photograph was taken between 1879, when the Brown and Stanton Building was built, and 1885, when it was known to have been owned by Holbrook, probably closer to 1879 given the lack of business signs. |
