Description |
Old houses on Elmwood Avenue behind Jim Cullen's building, 612-626 Main Street, which is visible in the background. The house on the left was originally numbered 13-15 Elmwood, renumbered 25-27. It was demolished to create a parking lot. The house on the right, the Lindley House, had entrances on both Elmwood and Main Streets and was numbered 216 Main, renumbered 608 or 610 Main Street (both numbers were used). The house was erected by William W. B. Lindley for a silk manufactory and was later used as a residence and occupied by James Houston. It was later owned by J. A. Laraway. The building on the lot now is a mixed-used property numbered 600 Main Street. |
